If you are getting into a corporate life, here are a few things you must know.
1. College was the best thing that could have ever happened to you.
How amazing it is. Being able to bunk classes whenever one wish. Just laying down whole day in your hostel room. Having something to eat in the mess at least thrice a day. Being surrounded by similar age group people, with whom you can hangout, have party with no tension and worries of the future. Just a last night study and few assignments to complete.
My friends! If you ever hate your college life, you need to think again. Cause once you step into the corporate world, all is gone.
You can't bunk your office, cause if you do, there will be a loss of pay. You can't afford to lose your payment can you?
You can't stay up late at night, cause you will need to report sharply at your office in the morning.
You might not be posted in an area which is nearby your home. You will be living in a rented house, where you will be paying for food and lodgings which might not be satisfactory to you.
You might not be surrounded by similar age group people. So there will be a lot of differences in thoughts that you will definitely find difficult to adjust
2. You need to put your 100% during the training period.
Training period is undoubtedly the honeymoon period in any organisation. It is the only time who will get enough time and space to enjoy yourself. Because of this, most people ignore the training. Well, training is the only time when you can actually squeeze most of the knowledge from your seniors. Give your 100% in the training and try to learn as much as possible during the same. Attend your induction properly, so that you have little or no doubt about the company when you are left on your own.
3. Take care of your health
The most important thing is health. You must take care of your health once you step into the corporate world. You will be visiting new places, new environment, new sort of food, water. Your body will take some time to adjust to the new surroundings. Eat well. Eat fruits, have a nutritious diet so that you could function well. Never hesitate to spend your earnings on fruits or any sort of nutritious diet. It's going to help you in the long run.
4. Talk to yourself
You will find yourself alone once you step into the corporate world. You need to develop the habit of self talk. Self talk is really effective. Wherever you go, try to include all sort of positive thoughts in your mind. The thoughts should not be ,"I should like this place." It should be "I like this place", "I love this new place," "I have great colleagues." "I am loving my new job." "Hey there is so much to learn and I am learning it all."
These four things are the only things I can offer when you step into the corporate world.
